These plans are available to California Teachers, Classified Employees, Administrators/Management and Confidential Employees working a minimum of 20 hours a week. The plans are designed to help provide replacement income when employees are sick or injured away from the job. Our plans are unique because they pay 100% full benefits in addition to sick leave, substitute differential pay, extended sick leave, STRS/PERS disability benefits, and other disability plans. Many other disability plans integrate, coordinate, or reduce benefits by other income. Our plans also pay benefits 12 months, 365 days a year including summer vacation, off-track time, holidays, and weekends. Many other plans pay only for scheduled working days.
Because everyone’s need for disability income insurance differs, our customers tailor-make their own personal coverage. Our programs offer a choice of monthly benefits, a variety of waiting periods, and how long benefits are paid (please note the benefit selected cannot be greater than 60% of your monthly income when combined with other disability insurance plans). Our plans also have options for covering maternity leave. Naturally, the premium varies with the plan and monthly benefit chosen. You can use our rate calculator above to determine your premium.
